Ed(mund)

Ed, also known by the human identity of Edmund Gregory Deering, is the main protagonist of Grey Matters. We as an audience follow Ed and his experience with being newly introduced to being an individual and experiencing emotions. Ed must learn to balance his duty with being a Grey Being and his want to stay on Earth. Either way, he must hide and lie about a portion of his identity in order to survive and follow through on his plans.

Each Grey Being has a specific scientific field that they are assigned to study, with Ed’s being genetics and evolutionary biology.

While Ed knows about the history and culture of humans on a surface level, Ed have zero knowledge on popular culture or current events. Ed tends to take things literally and has difficulty reading social cues, responding to questions in an oddly formal manner.
